Bio

I work offshore in Norway with sensors, ROVs, and subsea systems. It is the kind of work where you need to pay attention, solve problems with what you have, and stay curious. Good work, and it keeps you on your toes. One day can be routine, the next can be a puzzle made of seawater, cables, measurements, and things that suddenly decide they have opinions.

Coming home is the best part. My wife, two kids, and two dogs make the place feel properly alive, and I would not trade that for anything. Offshore life can be a strange rhythm, but it does make home feel extra important.

When I have spare time, it usually disappears into the workshop or a project folder somewhere:

• Woodworking: I like making physical things, even when the first version is mostly a lesson.
• Electronics: Sensors, small circuits, repairs, and whatever looks interesting enough to take apart.
• CAD: Useful for planning, printing, prototyping, and turning loose ideas into something that can actually be measured.
• IT and programming: Tools, scripts, websites, servers, and the occasional rabbit hole that starts with "this should only take ten minutes."

I jump between interests a lot, but the pattern is always the same: I want to know how things work. I am also very willing to break something if that is what it takes to understand it.

How I tend to work

• Start practical: What do I need this thing to do, and what is the simplest version that proves it?
• Make it visible: Sketch it, model it, wire it, log it, measure it, or write it down.
• Expect revision: First attempts are allowed to be ugly. That is how the useful parts show themselves.
• Keep the lesson: If I had to figure something out the slow way, it probably belongs on this site eventually.

Small Notes

• Favorite kind of project: Something practical, slightly overcomplicated, and possible to improve later.
• Best part of the day: Coming home and being met by the family.
• Usual problem: Too many ideas, not enough bench space.
• This website: A notebook, project shelf, and old-school internet corner rolled into one.
• Personal rule: If it can be repaired, understood, reused, or rebuilt, it is probably worth poking at.
